Valentine's Day DIY Gift Idea
For Valentine's last year I decided to do a DIY gift for my boyfriend. We were decorating our house and I thought this would be a fun and inexpensive gift.
Instead of going to the store and buying expensive frames it was a fun alternative. Also a home made gift for Valentines adds a touch of authenticity. I know women are always trying to figure out what to get and this is a easy and simple way to show you care!

~I got simple wooden background from a local craft store. They were $5 each! Our home has darker tones in our wood floors and these were originally birch so I decided to do a dark wash over them.
~I had some left over black acrylic paint from an earlier project so I add water to think it out a lot and lightly brushed it over the wood. It was really simple just playing with grooves and pits in the wood to add depth and texture.
-I printed out some of my favorite pictures of us in black and white and used an adhesive so they could easily stick to the wood
-For a fun detail I bought a pack of buttons that were a dark metal and I liked that in comparison to the softer tones in the wood.
Have fun with Valentine's and this DIY! It's an easy one, can't really mess it up. Let me know if you have any DIY gift ideas as well! I love to learn and share!
